About this activity
On a comfortable air-conditioned minibus guide we'll pick you up at your hotel lobby to iniciate this Private Tour. Leaving Porto around 09:00 towards Braga, city of religion and culture. City has founded by the romans and during this visit you'll be able to see many trace elements. Braga is the city with the most churches in the country and the place where we find the famous Triangle of Faith, constitued by the Sanctuaries of Sameiro, Bom Jesus and Braga Cathedral. We start first with Sameiro Sanctuary, opened in 1869 is the second largest sanctuary for devote to the Virgin Maria in Portugal. Appreciate its Neoclassic style has you entre for a visit accompanied with your guide. Leaving Sameiro, towards Bom Jesus, with its construction dated from 1722, know more about the history and construction, appreciate the beatifull staircase simbol of sacrifice and purity along with chapels and understand more about their porpuse. The Cable Car that you'll find is the oldest cable car in the world that is still working. Last but not least, Braga Cathedral, the oldest Cathedral in Portugal, dated from the XI century and built mainly in the Romantic Style. Visit the interior and know more about its constructions and ornaments.

After a deligtfull lunch in Braga we're ready to follow to Guimarães, birth place of Portuguese Nationality has its Historical centre classified as a World Heritage site since 2001. In 2012 receives the award of European City of Culture. Know more about Guimarães History, there's a fascinating story behind this city, filled with battles and conquers that raised Portugal as a kingdom for the very first time.

You'll be able to entre the famous Guimarães Castle, dated from the X century, according the tradition, here has lived the Parents of D. Afonso Henriques, first king of Portugal, and where he will have been born was well. Along the historical centre you'll be visiting the most important places and monuments such as: S .Miguel Church, where it believes that D. Afonso Henriques was once baptized, Paço dos Duques de Bragança, the Statue of D. Afonso Henriques, known as one of the kings most emblemátic representations, Largo Martins Sarmento, Santa Maria Street, the city hall, Santiago Square and many other monuments and places, that makes this city so rich in culture.

This tour well end around 18h00 with the drop off at your hotel in Porto.
