Though it rained a lot it was still a great day. It is just beautiful and serene and I would highly recommend it though you must be able to climb a lot of stairs. Diogo was a great tour guide, everything ran on schedule, he shared lots of interesting information about the places we passed on the drive, provided snacks and water and the restaurant he picked out for lunch was great.

The Paiva walkways were wonderful, we can wholeheartedly recommended this tour! There are a lot of beautiful sights alongside the route. Our guide, Diogo, was very helpful. After the tour we enjoyed a delicious full course menu with locally produced meat and liquor. Thanks for the great experience!

This Walk is not for the lazy. It starts with a climb of around 200 steps, then sightly more steps down the other side. I have had both my hips replaced and I still found the walk easy enough - but we walk almost every day at home. We were on the walk with a couple from France and enjoyed the chance to practice a little French language. The views are spectacular and I took around 200 photographs. The lunch was at a quiet mountain village and the food was very good. Our driver was Pedro and he looked after us well. As long as you are not lazy, I would highly recommend this trip.

We were going to this trip by ourselves but then I saw that Viator provided a tour of it, so we decided to have them take us which turned out to be perfect. The guide picked us up at our hotel and we were the only ones to sign up for the tour so we had a private tour. The drive was much further than I was expecting. the guide dropped us off at one end of the walk and said that he was going to drive to the end and walk backwards and meet us somewhere on the path. this turned out to be perfect because if we went ourselves we would have been forced to walk back or take a taxi back to where we started. We found out about the boardwalk along the river by an article in the NY Times in March. It is not in any book that I read and we were the only people not from Portugal on the walk. the walk is a boardwalk that goes along this beautiful river. the guide told us that there was a lunch included. we figured that there will be a small lunch packed for us. it turned out that the guide took us to a small town after the walk and we had a wonderful lunch. the owner of the restaurant was so friendly and we had steak, salad, French Fries and rice. to start we had meat and cheese. When the meal was over the owner came over with some homemade liquor. we tried some but the guide did not. once back in the van my wife and I fell asleep for the ride home. Overall it was a great time and we are so glad that we had the guide.

The tour was amazing! The view of the river and rapids was spectacular. Diego, our tour guide, was very helpful and took good care of us. The lunch experience was unique. Rita was an amazing host. I will highly recommend it.
