Terras de Santa Maria private tour

The "Land of Santa Maria" was an administrative region medieval organized and militarily around the Castle of Santa Maria. Probably it has been created by Alfonso III of Leon, in the mid-ninth century (866-910).
The Feira Castle, built at the beginning of Century XI, pay tribute site, it was privileged place of trade. This fair has become so important that agglomeration took his name Civitas Sanctae Mariae, giving rise to the present city of Santa Maria da Feira.
