It was built at the beginning of the century. XX in the precise place where the Convent of S. Bento de Avé-Maria existed.

The main lobby of the station is clad in historic themed tiles. Covering a surface of about 551 square meters, they represent, mainly, scenes passed in the North of the country, being portrayed, among other aspects, the Tournament of Arcs of Valdevez (panel Battle of Arcs of Valdevez), the presentation of Egas Moniz with the sons to King Afonso VII of Leon and Castile in the 12th century, the entrance of Dom Joao I and D. Filipa de Lencastre in Porto (entrance panel of John I in Porto), in 1387, the Conquest of Ceuta in 1415 , and traditional country life (Vistas and Rural Scenes), the tiles feature a typical New Art style, using very light colors, known as pastel colors.

In addition to the tiles, it has a strong French influence, especially in the side towers, with a typical style of the Fontainebleau School, oscillating between the Renaissance architecture and the Belle Époque.

Stop At: Ponte de Dom Luis I, Porto Portugal

The Bridge of D. Luís I or Ponte Luiz I, is a bridge in metallic structure with two boards, built between the years 1881 and 1888, connecting the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, separated by the river Douro.

The bridge was inaugurated in 1886 (upper board) and 1888 (lower board) Gustave Eiffel, signs as sole responsible the new and grand Luis I Bridge.

Length: total 385.25 m. Bow: measures 172 m of rope and 45 m of arrow.
