Discover the Amazing History of Babelsberg Park Walking Tour

The meeting point is at the foot of the Babelsberg mountain, on whose slopes the magnicifent Park is located.

In the next 1.5h you will learn about the dramatic time the Park Babelsberg was created in and which role the Park played in 1945 at the end of World War II. During the Potsdam Conference in summer 1945 the delegations were accomodated next to the Park. The unique park landscape was then shaped by the Berlin Wall. From the Babelsberg Palace you have a stunning view on the world-famous Bridge of Spies - a symbol of the Cold War. The bridge is today connecting Potsdam, the former East with the former West Berlin. Due to the West in the vicinity, the history of the park is also linked to successful and failed escape attempts across the Iron Curtain.

After an easy 2-kilometer walk we return to the starting point.
