Pass By: Tourist Information Centre - Staroměstská radnice (Old Town Hall), Staroměstské nám. 1, Staroměstské nám. 1/4, 110 00 Praha 1-Staré Město, Czechia

In the morning you're picked up from your hotel in the Prague city center by a certified mountain leader (and a driver at the same time) for the drive to Krkonose National Park, which usually takes approx. 2 hrs.

Stop At: Krkonoše National Park, Czechia

Option #1: Elbe Valley & Waterfalls Hike

The hike starts in a small town called Spindleruv Mlyn (Spindler's Mill) located in the heart of Krkonose NP. The hike is then lead along the Elbe river (one of Europe's longest rivers), which rises right there in the national park, through the longest glacier valley in the Czech Republic, called Labsky dul (Elbe valley). Hike is mostly shaded, peaceful, supplemented by mountain stream sounds. After the hardest part of the climb you eventually get to the top of the valley, and there standing on the edge of the valley cliff, you get the most epic view of the Czech biggest waterfall cascades - Pancava waterfall (148m high). Not too far from the waterfall you will stop at a mountain chalet for lunch. Choose from a variety of local dishes and different types of the high-quality Czech beer brewed right there in the middle of the national park from a mountain stream. The brewery is in fact the highest located brewery in Central Europe.

Now you only need to return back to the car, mostly downhill, partially through a bog on a wooden catwalk, while enjoying the quiet and peaceful landscape with stunning views breathing in the fresh mountain air.

Total hiking distance: 17 km (10.5 miles).

Duration: 8 hours

Stop At: Krkonoše National Park, Czechia

Option #2: Giant Valley & Mt. Snezka Hike

The hike starts in a small town called Pec pod Snezkou located in the eastern part of Krkonose NP. You are about to climb the highest peak in the Czech Republic, called Mt. Snezka (1,603m a.s.l.) through the deepest glacier valley called Obri dul (Giant valley). This is one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the Czech Republic and at the top of the peak you'll be standing on the roof of the Czech Republic. You cannot get any higher in this country. On sunny days the views are spectacular. Quite often you can also experience the cloud inversion, leaving the lower areas of the Czech Republic buried in fog, while you're enjoying sunshine. After that you descend along the ridge to a plateau that turns to bogland in summer, through which you can only pass on an epic wooden catwalk. In the middle of the plateau you will find the oldest and the biggest mountain lodge in the national park, which at the elevation of 1410m a.s.l. also hides the highest located brewery in Central Europe inside. This is your lunch place. Choose from a variety of local dishes and different types of the high-quality Czech beer brewed right here in the middle of the national park from a mountain stream. Now you only need to return back to the car, mostly downhill while enjoying the quiet and peaceful landscape with stunning views breathing in the fresh mountain air. On the way back you will be able to observe ruins of a former concrete bunkers that were build there along the state border before the WWII.

Total hiking distance is 17 km (10.5 miles).
