About this activity

Go back in time to the Middle Ages and spend 5 hours visiting the second most important town in Bohemia. Kutná Hora was the second richest town of the Bohemian Kingdom and the medieval center of silver mining. The city was declared an UNESCO World Heritage site in 1995.

Kutná Hora, located about 65 km outside of Prague, owes its origin to its silver mines, the existence of which can be traced back to the beginning of the 13th century. It was second only to Prague as the most important town in Bohemia, having become the favourite temporary residence of several Czech kings.

On this tour you’ll have the chance to visit the ossuary, a “bone house” that is one of the most interesting burial places in the world, decorated with more than 40 000 human bones. You will also see the charming Gothic Cathedral of St. Barbara and a unique stone fountain from the 15th century.
