About this activity
The tour begins in the center of Prague, the Old Town Square, which dominant feature is a large Gothic Church of Our Lady before Tyn. Besides interesting decoration with a series of symbols there is buried the great astronomer and astrologer of the time of Emperor Rudolf II. ‐ Tycho Brahe. On the Old Town Square we talk about houses and mysterious alchemical symbols on their facades and why it is not good to look squarely at the Prague Astronomical Clock, which attracts, according to the inter- pretation of many modern esoteric, negative energy.
Nearby the Old Town Square, there is a house, where according to the legend, is convergetion point of Prague’s under- ground passages, and also energy rivers that gives Prague melancholy and magical beauty.
A little further on Melantrichova street, we stop at the plate commemorating Jan Marcius Markus, the imperial medical doctor which reliably we know that it was he who found the famous Voynich manuskrip, medieval book written in a secret language that still decipher even fot the most famous scientists.
On houses of much younger age, built at a time when the world was ruled with no enlightenment, we nd mysterious symbols walker easily overlooked and which refer to the alchemist’s desire to make tramsmutation ‐ the transformation of base metal into gold and silver, these symbols we show you on Rytiřská st. Just a few meters further, there is the Caro- linum, the rst seat of the Charles University (year 1348). Here took place in 1728 the last known transmutation in Prague. On Carolinum we show you another famous gothic part of the building covered with also many references to secret arts.
Prague was also the seat of the Templars and Rosicrucians. Although they left even today we acquired their magical energy and a few monuments that outsiders easily could overlooked. At this point, of course, we do not forget discreet Baroque sculpture of Calvary with Christ and alchemical references and also facade of the church of St. James, with is associated with many legends.
In the last third of the tour you ́ll learn about Jewish traditions and Rosicrucians symbols in the Jesuit College called Klementi- num and about a magical background of the several houses signs around.
