One way drive to Karlstejn castle takes about 45 minutes. It is located in the Central Bohemian region close to Prague. On the way you will be driving through typical Czech landscape and see small villages.

The impressive high Gothic style castle was founded in 1348 as the royal treasury for the imperial crown jewels. You can see the medieval residential rooms of the emperor Charles IV. After arriving you can choose one of the interiors walks that the castle offers. Walk around the castle yards and walls. We also recommend the visit of the precious "golden" Chapel of the Holy Cross - it is necessary to book the tickets ahead (open only 1.5. - 31.10.).

Walking down from the castle we can enjoy the local village full of galleries and shops. Would you prefer a short walk in the nature? Would you like to stop at the near by picturesque stone quarry called "America"?

This trip can be combined with: visit of the famous Bohemian glass works where you can learn about the glass making craft or visit of Pilsen beer brewery town or another famous chateu of Konopiste. In case of combined trip the price and time of the tour will be adjusted.
