About this activity

The Trip:

It is primarily a walking trip that may be a combination between Artemis and Caledonia Waterfalls trail (or other trails in the Troodos area), depending on travellers’ preferences and time availability.

Duration : Eight or Ten hours, depending on package selection

Pickup time : To be agreed with the travellers. Usually it is between 08:30 and 09:30.

Pickup location : At an agreed place (eg hotel, port, etc) usually in Limassol or Nicosia. It can be at other cities or resorts (eg Paphos, Larnaca, Pissouri, even Protaras or Agia Napa). From Agia Napa or Protaras the trip would make sense if the duration is 8 or 10 hours, as, due to the significant distance, there is considerable time to be spent in the car.

Itinerary : Initially we do the walk (s). If we have time we visit other attractions (natural and/or cultural). Once we complete the walk(s) we return to the pickup location stopping at attractions subject to time availability. The overall itinerary may differ depending on the pick up location. From Nicosia we may visit for example Kakopetria and or Agios Nicolaos tis Stegis Unesco World Heritage painted church. From Protaras, if travellers prefer, we may visit also some attractions in the area such as Kamara tou Koraka in Cape Greko. The trip may be customised to include a meal at a traditional village restaurant, winetasting, etc.

The Walks:

Artemis trail (8 km / 5 mi, flat and easy) is the highest elevation trail in Cyprus with unique flora on the island. When the weather is clear it offers excellent vistas to many parts of Cyprus.

Caledonia Waterfalls Trail (linear, three km / two miles long and steep) at an elevation of down to 1,000 m offers quite a different environment (eg plane trees, strawberry trees, violas, brambles, bracken, trout if walkers are lucky, etc). It runs in a lush valley crossing the stream a few times.

The combination of the two trails offers a rich experience over a considerably elevation range in Cyprus.

Transportation :

We usually use a Citroen C8 MPV car.

What’s included:

Guiding in the walk and the trip in general.

What’s excluded :

Food, drinks, entry fee at archaeological sites if any, etc.
