About this activity
This guided tour starts early in the morning in Puerto Jimenez. Includes a visit to the mangrove forest in Preciosa Platanares Wildlife Refuge, a nice boat trip along Golfo Dulce and an exploration of Saladero reef that hosts lots of marine life.
Dolphins are always a big possibility in Golfo Dulce. Snorkeling and kayak gear is provided.
You will discover a different side of the Osa Peninsula that few ever see; pristine tropical waters of Golfo Dulce are waiting for you, the stunning sea-life, reefs and colorful panorama are here just waiting to be discovered.
The excursion includes 2 hours reef exploration and 2 hours mangrove exploration. The order of the tour activities depends on the tide.
Then if it is high tide you will start with the mangrove exploration, this is a visit to Preciosa Platanares Wildlife Refuge mangrove section.
After the visit to mangrove forest, you will enjoy a tropical fruit snack, including a demonstration on how to open coconuts local style.
Then you will take the boat to cross the gulf until reaching Saladero reef. Once you get there you will explore underwater world.
Before or after the snorkeling you will enjoy a beach picnic lunch, with seasonal fresh fruits, ice tea, fresh vegetables sandwich,cheese, jam, beans and sauces.
If lunch comes before snorkeling, a resting time is needed before going to the water.
