3 Day Ecomagic Jungle Tour in Peru

Immerse yourself in the jungle atmosphere of Puerto Maldonado and discover Peru's center of biodiversity. Sleep under a canopy of stars and wake to the morning calls of the jungle's birdlife. Take excursions with specialized guides and look for a rich diversity of native wildlife.

Day 1:
Following pick-up from the airport at Puerto Maldonado, take a city tour by private bus. Then go to the small river port of Capitania and board a motorized boat to cross the Madre de Dios River. Marvel at the jungle surroundings as you look for capybaras, caimans, turtles, herons, cormorants and other animals along the way. Upon arrival at the Ecoamazonia Lodge, enjoy a refreshing welcome drink. Settle in to your bungalow before lunch.

Then, take an afternoon trip to Monkey Island in the heart of the Madre de Dios River. Look at the extraordinary landscapes and exuberant flora along the way. The island is home to a variety of monkey species, coatis, sloths and a great diversity of birds. Experience a jungle sunset. Then enjoy dinner at the lodge.

Day 2:
Wake to the delightful sound of birds singing in the jungle canopy. After breakfast, walk deep into the jungle as you make your way along paths and canyon bridges. Hike to majestic Lake Apu Victor. Ascend to an observation point that opens onto a spectacular panorama across the lake. Look for parrots, guacamayos, toucans, camungo, shansho and other exotic wildlife. If you are lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of a giant otter. Return to the lodge to enjoy an afternoon lunch. Fish and swim in the Gamitana River in the afternoon. Then return to the lodge for dinner. Please note that it's important to take a hat, sunblock and a swim suit on the excursion to the Gamitana River.

Day 3:
Transfer to the airport after breakfast for your onward flight.
