Itinerary

Day 1: From Puerto to Tambopata

Stop At: Tambopata National Reserve, Tambopata National Reserve, Madre de Dios Region
Around midday the trip begins from Puerto Maldonado. There we will take a boat to go deeper in the rainsforest. After the installation in your rooms in the lodge we go in the forest for a night walk, looking for spiders, insects, frogs, snakes and other nocturn animals.

Day 2: Rainforest experience

Stop At: Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick, Av. Leon velarde # 122 Boulevard Plaza de Armas, Tambopata National Reserve Peru
Early in the Morning we take a boat to go up river during 1h30 to reach the Macaw Clay Lick. Macaws use to eat the clay in the morning. We have breakfast waiting for the birds and watching them.
We stay around 2h30 watching this wildlife show and then come back to the lodge in boat. All boat journeys are opportunities to observe wildlife like birds

Ethnobotanical walk in the forest to discover medecinal plants, sacred trees, walking palm trees and so much more. You will learn about their story and uses by indigenous communities.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Tambopata National Reserve, Tambopata National Reserve, Madre de Dios Region
In the evenning we take the boat to look for caïmans on the border of the river. It is easier to see them during the night because their eyes reflect the light.
Duration: 45 minutes

Day 3: Lago Sandoval

Stop At: Lago Sandoval, Ruta 30C s/n Calle Marquez 250 Interior Oficina 11 Segundo Piso, Puerto Maldonado 08000 Peru
After breakfast we come back in Puerto Maldonado. The journey is an opportunity to observe wildlife. Reaching Puerto Maldonado we have lunch at the restaurant of the lodge. After lunch we go 20 minutes down river on the Madre de Dios river to access the entrance of the trail to go to the Lake. There is a 1h30 walk to arrive to the lake. Your guide will take you on a tour in the lake during 1h/1h30. The lake has a different ecosystem than the reserve. You can see birds, monkeys, black caïmans, otters and maybe more! We never know in the rainforest. After the tour we do the same itinerary back. Coming back in Puerto you can enjoy the swimming pool of the lodge before dinner.

Day 4: Cachuela

Stop At: Puerto Maldonado, Puerto Maldonado, Madre de Dios Region
Depending on your return schedule we will go on the Cachuela Center in the morning or the evenning. The center is located 40 minutes in car from Puerto Maldonado. There we can walk on suspension bridges in the canopy, look at the forest from the observation tower and do a zipline.
