Amazing tour!!! Definitely worth it! We had 2 of the best tour guides Alex and David who were very friendly and very knowledgeable on the history of Puerto Plata. They treated us like family, made us laugh and interacted with everyone. I wont lie when I first booked this tour, I contemplated whether we would've gotten bored since it was a 5 hr tour but I was soooo wrong... it was an awesome time, so good that I wasn't ready to leave when the tour was over. I told my husband that we need to make a trip to Puerto Plata again because it was such an fun place with amazing people. I booked this tour for myself, my husband and my 20 month year old son. We got into an air conditioned coach bus very comfortable seating, the guys gave us snacks, water, rum punch, straw hats, we went for lunch at a cafe in Puerto Plata which was pretty good too. Loved the cable car ride up the mountains, took some beautiful pics of the view and with the statue of Christ the Redeemer. We visited the Macorix House of Rum, the fort of San Felipe, rolled cigars, tried mamajuana and danced limo and bachata/ merengue.. even my 20 month old son had a good time!!! Definitely recommend!

Really good tour and great value for money! We walked out of the port to meet our guide Alexander, Roberto and the driver Fernando. There were just 5 people on our tour so it felt very private and it's been a privilege to go around with this lovely guys. The tour was very informative, we went first to Puetro Plata teleferico and once on top have a nice walk around the gardens while Alex explained us all about the plants and trees of the area. We then went to visit a Rhum distillery and enjoy the tasting session! After that, as we were ahead of schedule, had an exclusive visit to a chocolate factory and then for lunch in a old colony house. Lunch was traditional Dominican and the place very peaceful. After lunch we headed to the Cigars factory, rolled our own cigars and have a little dance lesson. Highly recommended!
