About this activity
Get yourself to the intersection of Centro Vallarta and Emiliano Zapata (the Romantic Zone) at 6:45pm, and make sure you have an empty stomach! Greet your professional "foodie" guide and the rest of your small group, and set off on foot to discover the luminous charm of an evening in Puerto Vallarta.

Your first stop is for authentic tacos de cabeza (beef cheeks simmered in a spicy chile broth). Served only in the evenings, these tacos are beloved by locals. Next, meet a local churros master. Cooked fresh to order, the crispy golden fritters are served hot and dusted with cinnamon sugar. Continue your tour by sampling a savory seafood chile relleno taco and a shrimp brochette before tasting tacos al pastor — thin shavings of spit-roasted pork, marinated with guajillo chiles and served on fresh tortillas. (Second helpings are encouraged.)

Finish your culinary walking tour with a crisp yet fluffy quesadilla, prepared with fresh local cheese and sautéed mushrooms; and, for dessert, a Michoacán-style fruit paleta (handmade popsicle). Before you bid your guide farewell at the last stop (around 10:30pm), get insider's tips on where to go and what to eat during the rest of your time in Puerto Vallarta; and be instructed how to return to your hotel by foot, public transit, or taxi.

Our guide was fantastic, full of knowledge on all the salsas that were available at each stop. He even had stories about Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. Each taco stop was distinctly different. Very good tour.

Star was an amazing, knowledgeable and very accomodating tour guide. We tasted 14 different food and beverages during the tour and she was constantly asking us if we wanted more to eat. The stops we made had all been in business for 20-40 years. Really enjoyed the food and the sanitation was good. I would take any tour offered through Vallarta Eats. We received photos and a list of stops so we could return on other days. Very thorough. Easy location to meet and start the tour. Loved hearing the history of the area. Tacos After Dark Tour Stops Tacos Yanez taco de cabeza cheek Churro Man Cisneros seafood chile relleno and shrimp brochette Las Gueras taco al pastor, con todo/with everything El Moreno quesadilla with adobada pork, beans, onion, guacamole, salsa, lime, and salt La Michoacana Ice pops/paletas

Excellent tour. Would recommend you take the tour early in your stay so you can return to your favorite spots again later. Learned much about spotting different types of taco stands and how to recognize the good ones that are clean. Taco stands are such a prominent part of Puerto Vallarta that it is a must tour!

My friend and I ended up on a personal tour with Memo as the other couple cancelled to watch the Presidential debate! Memo was very knowledgeable and fun to be with. The food was amazing and we went back several times during our stay for churros from the Churro Man's stand.
