Burial Tower Sillustani Half-Day Tour

We picked up in the afternoon at 2 pm from your Puno hotel, traveling afterwards by bus through Puno’s “Altiplano” High Plains region toward the Sillustani Peninsula.

While en route you’ll have time to observe the region’s unique plant life and its rural communities. When you arrive on the Peninsula, you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the local burial towers (called “Chullpas”) as you learn about the belief system of the ancient Pukara Culture. The design was so popular that even the Inca people, who conquered the Pukara in the 15th century, adopted its use. While on the Peninsula, you’ll also explore the Umayu Lagoon, offering a glimpse of the region’s striking natural beauty. You’ll then return to your hotel in Puno, pausing while en route to explore a typical farmhouse. Your return time is around 6:00pm.
