About this activity
Your day tour starts with early morning pickup in the center of Puno for the 45-minute drive to your first stop, Sillustani, where you'll spend about one hour. This complex on the shores of Umayo Lagoon is known for its funerary towers (chullpas) from pre-Inca and Inca cultures that stand as tall as 40 feet (12 meters).

Next, continue your tour to 'the Pink City' of Lampa, arriving in the mid-morning. Visit Templo de Santiago Apostol, a church and national monument that dates back to 1675, known for its catacombs and a replica sculpture of the Pietà by Michelangelo. Then depart Lampa for Pucará, where you'll arrive around midday. Enjoy a 1-hour visit at the Lithic Museum and the Pukara Archaeological Site, an important ceremonial center for the Pucará culture. You will have half an hour for a box lunch.

Then head to your last destination, Tinajani. You'll spend about 1.5 hours in this canyon to see its rock formations, red sandstone deposits, and volcanic rocks millions of years old, formed as a result of wind, hail, snow, and rain. After your time here, your day trip ends with the 3-hour drive back to Puno for drop-off in the city.
