Half Day Qingdao Private Tour: Explore the Cradle of Taoism in Laoshan Mountain

In the morning, you will be greeted by your friendly private guide and experienced driver at your Qingdao city hotel lobby. Then, travel to Laoshan Mountain in a comfortable, private car. 

As the first stop of this tour, Mt. Laoshan contains two must-see spots, Longtan Waterfall and Taiqing Palace. Longtan Waterfall is spectacular both from a distance and up-close. The water cascades into a deep pool from the towering cliffs, and is said to resemble a huge white dragon - full of robustness and vigour.

Then, pay a visit to the impressive, beautiful and historical Taoist temple: Taiqing Palace, which is more than 2,000 years old. Taiqing Palace lays at the foot of seven peaks, and its construction started during the first year of the ancient Western Han Dynasty (140 BC). It is the largest of all the temples and nunneries in Laoshan Mountain. Taking up an area of 4,442 square meters, Taiqing Temple has more than 150 rooms in total. Sanguan Temple, Sanqing Temple and Sanhuang Temple, which are also part of the complex, have their own gates and walls.

There are also two courtyards named Martyr's Shrine and the Shrine of Master of Scriptures. Taiqing Temple is the second Taoist temple, just after the Baiyun Taoist Temple in Beijing, to be named “The Second Temple under Heaven” of Quanzhen School of Taoism.

After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Qingdao’s city center.
