About this activity
This private 7 hour tour focuses on Qingdao's cultural offering, aswell has taking in Qingdao's newly formed coffee street district around the university district. The tour no doubt appeals to those who wish deepen their understanding of what made Qingdao the city it is today, whilst looking at its colorful past.

A experienced tour guide will arrange to meet you for collection at your centrally located accommodation at 09.00 am, to begin the days adventure.

The tour commences with a 30 minute drive to to the

Qingdao Museum. This grand museum houses numerous relics and exhibitions. The first part of the museum gives insight into the 5000 year history of Qingdao - with stories and relics salvaged from past centuries. Including in this are are a set of 30 tonne, 16 foot, 2500 year old Buddha Statues - a real wow moment!

Throughout the rest of the museum, exhibitions for Woodwork, Ming Dynasty Pottery, Historic Chinese Coins are all shown and provide glimpses into the regions rich history. Occasionally the museum hosts exhibitions from around China, offering some world-class sites. The museum will take around 60-90 minutes, and during the tour an English Audio headset will be provided.

We then proceed to the

Han Dynasty Brick Museum, offering a elegant, and professionally presented exhibition focusing on the unique find of 1000's of Han-Era Bricks from 2000 years ago. You'll learn about how they was discovered by the museum owner and how he turned this find into a passion to create the museum.

The find unearthed a plethora of tales, stories and detail about life during the Han Dynasty through a series of artwork and scribes on a collection of 2000 year old bricks. The museum does an amazing job of presenting this, with well-informed signage providing background information for anybody who wishes to learn more.

There will also be a chance to undertake a letter-press workshop, pressing ink on a patterned brick onto paper for your own personal souvenir. The museum really is something that will exceed expectations!

Coffee Time

We will then head back to the Old Town for a 45 minute lunch before exploring the windings streets of Daxue Road home to a fascinating selection of wonderfully designed, and often quirky Coffee Shops. The area is characterized by its small, winding alleys with hidden coffee shops, and historic buildings. Here you can also find the home of famous Chinese write Lao She. We will stop to experience one of the Coffee shops, where you will have one free coffee of your choice.

Final stop includes the

Art Museum for 1 hour. The museum carries numerous exhibitions from local artists, showcasing exquisite artwork - sometimes woodwork, sometimes calligraphy. Who knows what will be on show!
