About this activity

Our tour will commence from your centrally located hotel at 09.00am, where you will be greeted by your friendly private guide and experienced driver at your centrally located city hotel. . The private driver will then take you and your group towards the north side of Laoshan Mountain, over the scenic route towards the coastal road. This journey will take approx 70 minutes.

Arrival at Yangkou Scenic Area

Laoshan is one of the true gems of Chinese tourism offering, being the highest of all of Chinese coastal mountains, it is a revered place for pilgrims throughout the millennia. Yangkou Scenic Area is located on the coastal east of Laoshan and offers an alternative route to explore the wonders of this majestic coastal mountain.

The beauty is breath-taking, you will feel a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of city life here. The driver will park up in the center of fishing village where we begin the trek towards the hillside viewpoint. From here you can get glimpses of life in the village, with the bobbing fishing boats and stored away old fishing nets to get that authentic experience.

Down below will be the vast canyons of water carved granite boulders, and pine forests in bloom. Further down below you will be able to see the red roofed homes perched on the hillside looking out at sea.

Upon reaching the viewpoint, there will be a small cave dedicated to Tao'ist beliefs, with a abandoned temple. The trek up will take just over 1 hour, and offers numerous vantage points and shady areas.

There may be an opportunity to extend the hiking route to the peak, but this would add 2 hours to the overall time, and may lead to lack of time for others parts of the tour. If you wish for this, then contact us to let us know and we can change the tour accordingly.

Lunch & Tea Tasting

We will then descent to be back in the village, where we will enjoy a local home-stay lunch with a local family. Most families in the village will have their own tea plantation, and will be able to offer a sample of family brew. The specialty of Laoshan Tea is renowned throughout China, and can change in taste depending on season.

Village Walk

The tour offers the opportunity to wonder around the lanes and small roads of the traditional fishing village. The scent of fresh sea air and food fills the streets. Locals sell their catch near the seafront most evenings, along with local fisherman perched on the end of the pier offering glimpses into the real local life. We recommend a 45-60 minute walk around the village, to allow you to get the most of your visit and get some iconic photographic shots. .

After the tour, the driver will begin to take you back to your hotel.
