This 22-kilometer-long fiord is sited in a magnificent alpine landscape in the World Heritage Fiordland National Park. Travel from Queenstown along the shoreline of Lake Wakatipu. Your deluxe coach will feature a glass roof on most departures to take the best advantage of the stunning alpine scenery - the coach also has amazing leg room! Journey past the dramatic peaks of the Remarkables mountain range to Te Anau, the "Gateway to Fiordland", where a morning tea stop will be made. Next, travel Milford Road featuring some of the most stunning scenery in the world - towering snow-capped mountains, magnificent rain forests, and spectacular waterfalls. Photo stops will be made along the way. Before descending into Milford Sound, travel through the Homer Tunnel - carved through the solid rock of a mountain. When you reach Milford Sound, board a 1hr 45-minute cruise taking you past Mitre Peak which rises from the ocean floor to 1 mile above sea level. View spectacular Bowen Waterfall, cascading down its huge rock face. During this cruise keep an eye out for the dolphins, seals, and penguins that live in this wonderful location. You will return to Queenstown on board our luxury tour coach, arriving into Queenstown at approximately 06:45 pm.
