12 DAYS ECUADOR CULTURE GROUP TOUR

DAY 1 (D)
In the morning you will be visiting the colonial old town of Quito. After you will be visit the equator monument called Mitad del Mundo. 
DAY 2 (B,L)
You will do a 5 hour hike through the flora of the Andean highlands to explore the Cuicocha Crater. Later, you will visit the famous Otavalo market.
DAY 3 (B,L)
The train ride will start in Otavalo and will take you to Salinas, where you can explore the culture and history of the Afro-Ecuadorians. 
DAY 4 (B,D)
You will go to thermal baths of Papallacta. In the afternoon, you will arrive at a cozy lodge middle in a private protected forest.
DAY 5 (B,L,D)
You will have a hike through the protected rainforest. An expert from Pacari will show you how they make chocolate from local cacao beans.
DAY 6 (B,L,D)
Early in the morning, you and your guide will hop on a canoe along the Arajuno river to a clay lick to observe hundreds of parrots and parakeets. Then you will drive to a small town in the jungle called Misahualli for a typical Almuerzo. 
DAY 7 (B,D)
After your breakfast, you will drive to an Animal Rescue Center in Puyo to see some tropical animals of the Amazon and to meet monkeys face to face. From here you will head deeper into the rainforest to eventually end up in Macas. Here you can relax in the afternoon in a nice hosteria.
DAY 8 (B,L,D)
You will viist the Shuar waterfall, where you will try to perform the waterfall ceremony of the Shuar. 
DAY 9 (B,L)
In the early morning, you will visit the Andean market of Guamote. After the market, you will explore the area and the small villages to have a better insight into the life of the Kichwa community. In the afternoon, you will be heading to Riobamba.
* Upgrade option: Train ride over the Devil’s Nose: 
After visiting the Guamote market you also have the choice to drive to a small train station of Alausi and do the famous train ride. (+ $ 90 p.p.)
DAY 10 (B,L)
Today, you will be heading to Riobamba to visit the Chimborazo volcano (6267 m). You will have a stop on 3000-meter altitude to visit the indigenous Kichwa community. From here you are able to hike to the Whymper refuge that is over 5000 meter in altitude. Later in the afternoon, you will be heading to Latacunga.
DAY 11 (B,L,D)
After breakfast, you will have a short drive to the village of La Victoria. Later, you will continue to the Andean market of Zumbahua. Here you can experience the noisy and chaotic market before you’ll head to the Quilotoa lagoon. 
DAY 12 (B,L)
You will explore the Cotopaxi National Park. Afterwards, you will have a lunch in the mountain refuge called Tambopaxi surrounded with the Sincholagua and Cotopaxi volcanos before heading back to Quito.
