Itinerary

Stop At: Laguna Quilotoa, Laguna de Quilotoa, 070701 Ecuador

Start your day with a visit to the famous local market of Saquisilí. On Sundays, when the market is closed, you'll visit the first missionary church in Ecuador, located in Pujili. Continuing on, you'll pass through the indigenous villages of the area which provide a fantastic chance to witness true Ecuadorian culture.

Arriving at the spectacular Laguna Quilotoa, you'll hike down to the Laguna and back in a stunning 45 min hike down and 1-hour hike up. It is possible to hire mules for part of the trek. Paying special attention to the culture and rural life of indigenous Andean people, this trip is a wonderful opportunity to see the beauty of Ecuador in all of its forms.

Quilotoa is a beautiful location. The guide was knowledgeable and helpful. The driver was excellent and careful. The round trip from Quito took hours but it was time well spent.
