Mitad del Mundo Entrance

There are only a few places in the world where you can take a picture with one foot in each hemisphere. In order to honor the historical efforts of the geodesic mission, the equatorial monument was built 13 kilometers north of the center of Quito. Visitors can enjoy the views from the monument at the middle of the world at a height of 30 meters.

Your ticket will include access to a nine level ethnographic museum and an observation deck. From the observation deck you can even appreciate the Catequilla Hill, a circular structure that was used as a temple to worship the Moon by the area first inhabitants.

Mitad del Mundo also has a planetarium, a miniature model of colonial Quito in its permanent exhibit, an insectarium (with a collection of butterflies and insects from all over the world), and several pavilions of different countries.

With your ticket you will have access to the observation deck and all museums and pavilions. When you arrive to the "Mitad del Mundo" complex, present your ticket at the main ticket booth. It will be scanned via your mobile device or physical ticket for an all inclusive entrance. There are restaurants in the area with authentic Ecuadorian food, but not included in attraction entrance.
