About this activity
Leave Reykjavik by an air-conditioned vehicle, relax in your seat as you set out on your full day adventure tour, listen to entertaining stories about Iceland‘s history and spectacular landscapes from your informative guide as you head towards Drumboddsstadir where the rafting base is located.

Upon arrival you will meet your certified rafting guides and be provided with all of the necessary rafting gear. Then, after a safety briefing, head out on an inflatable raft with a professional guide. Paddle along the fast flowing river past untouched coubtryside, gliding along calm waters and bumping over rapids and at one point during your trip, dare to jump from a cliff into the water!

After your river rafting adventure, you can use the shower and sauna facilities before enjoying your lunch (own expense) at the rafting base camp. Once ready, return to your air-conditioned vehicle and accompanied by your guide, take the popular Golden Circle route for an afternoon sightseeing.

Head through rugged landscapes to Geysir geothermal region, an area of bubbling pools, steam vents and waterspouts that gave the word ´geyser´ to the world. Follow the trails around the gurgling springs and ponds, and catch the sight of the spouting geysers bursting water up to 25 meters high.

Continue to the golden waterfall of Gullfoss, one of Iceland‘s most visited attractions. Savor the views of the breathtaking falls, where the waters gush over two tiers of lava rock, and if your‘re lucky, cath sight of the rainbow the can form in the mists.

Lastly, visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Thingvellir National Park, renowned as the site of Iceland´s 10th-century parliament assemblies. Thingvellir is rich of geological wonders and Icelandic history and holds many natural gems, such as Silfra fissure where frequent divers and snorkelers can be found exploring the wonders of the fissure. It is also the location where the American and Eurasian tectonic plates are drifting apart. Make sure to view the awesome tectonic rift and snap photos of this natural phenomena before returning back to Reykjavik where your tour finishes.

This was a 2 part tour. The first part was with a driver and some people to the Golden Circle. Was a nice and enjoyable trip. Then we got dropped off to the white water rafting. I would have liked bigger rapids but still beautiful scenery and cliff jumping into the glacier water. Was a great time.

Golden Circle - excellent. Rafting - good trip but the guides allowed someone who has never rafted before to sit in front and he didn't follow directions and threw up his hands and took several of us in the water with him when the guide told him to jump to the middle of the boat. darn cold water.

The guides are awesome. The big rapids come first. The water in June was SUPER Cold. They have wet suits and clothes to borrow. The headquarters has a steam room and hot showers. A few of us jumped in the water near the end of the ride. I'm glad I did it, but it was SOOOOOOOO cold. Seeing the Golden Circle was great and the bus driver was great too. Amazing water falls! You can leave your jackets and backpacks at the headquarters while rafting This is a great all day adventure. I would recommend bringing your own food, as otherwise lunch is going to cost you about 33.00 per person! I would bring

All I can say is cold! We ate on arrival and relaxed until food had settled then the fun began. Cold and wet wetsuits yuk. Take under layers not cotton though. Guide was very playfully fun and knowledgeable about the area. Was a bit to cold for me but I would do it again. Be prepared to fall in. Was a little scary but safety is very much their priority.
