Drysuit snorkeling Silfra tour with photos included
On this incredible snorkeling tour you'll discover the beautiful and unique Silfra Fissure, Iceland's number one diving and snorkeling location situated in Þingvellir National Park. Unravel the stunning mysteries of Silfra in a small group together with a highly experienced certified PADI snorkeling guide.
Your guide will tell you about Silfra’s origins, teach you the basics of snorkeling and how to use your equipment. They will also show you where you can touch the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates at the same time, as well as other interesting points.
All the necessary snorkeling equipment will be provided, such as a drysuit and thermal undersuit, keeping you warm from the 2-4°Celsius (35-39°Fahrenheit) water temperature, as well as a mask, snorkel, fins and neoprene hoods and gloves. Your drysuit will allow you to float along Silfra’s light current in peace and tranquillity.
In the water you'll have great visibility, often exceeding 100 metres, allowing you to discover all the fascinating rock formations, hidden caves and luminous “Troll Hair” algae. After exiting the water, you'll be invited to warm up with cookies and some delicious, traditional Icelandic hot chocolate.
