Discover Iceland's Golden Circle private tour, beginning with pickup from your hotel in Reykjavik. There’s great value to this tour, in seeing the main highlights in additional to a good number of other stops.
Start with the intensely red pseudo craters of Rauðhólar; here you’ll learn about volcanoes and eruptions. Then you'll be taken to the ocean, to a desolate place: the black sandy beach around a river delta. This is a time to enjoy open spaces and solitude.
Then go to see the famous Crater Kerið (entrance fee own expense), then Waterfall Faxi. The mighty Gullfoss Falls will be the next stop. Next will be the Geyser Strokkur, which erupts every 5-8 minutes.
The last stop is Thingvellir National Park, a location very dear to Icelanders due to the contribution it has given to Icelandic history. It’s also a tremendously important place, geologically speaking, since here it’s possible to see the tectonic plates of two continents splitting apart. Afterward, return to Reykjavik for drop-off at your hotel.
