About this activity

Nothing is more relaxing than visiting a farm in the country outside the city. Laxnes Horse Farm is now offering you the chance to enjoy a day at the farm. You will be picked up at your hotel or guest house in the morning and taken to our farm in historical Mosfellsdalur valley. In the morning we will ride for two hours in the beautiful mountain area around the farm. Afterwards, back at the farm, we will have time to relax and enjoy a light lunch and a cup of coffee or tea before going out for another adventurous ride. At the end of the day we drive you back to your accommodation in Reykjavík. This tour is both for all skill levels.

Phenomenal all-day experience. The guy who owns the farm and who looks like he just walked off the set of Vikings was great- friendly, engaging and funny. The rides in both the morning and afternoon, led by experienced and friendly guides, were better than anything I have had in the U.S. We were able to trot, canter, experience the unique 5th-gait of Icelandic horses, and gallop. In the U.S., because of liability issues, you can rarely do something like this. This means that if you say that you can ride, you need to be able to ride. Accommodation is also made for those who are not experienced riders and who want a quieter, slower trail ride. This is the second time I have used Laxnes Farm, and I think they are one of the best horse farms in the Reykjavik area.
