Reykjavik Langjokull Ice Cave, Lava Falls, and Hot Springs Day Trip
Tour departs from Reykjavik at 8:30am, for this full day adventure. On this tour you will travel with an expert guide west of Reykjavík. You will get to walk up close to the highest-flow hot spring in Europe, named Deildartunguhver with temperatures of 97°C.
The tour continues to Húsafell with its beautiful nature of dense wood, lava formations and mountains. From there your journey continues on a mountain truck on to Langjökull glacier to find the ice cave. The cave is a deep excavated man-made tunnel revealing the veins and blue heart of the glacier, to be explored with insightful commentary and facts from the trained ice cave guide leading the way.
Close to Húsafell are the Hraunfossar waterfalls or Lava Falls. A picturesque scenery with water seeping from underneath the lava field and bursting out into Hvítá river. Walk over the bridge to stand above the powerful river and learn the sad old folk lore behind the name of Barnafoss or Childens Falls, before traveling back to Reykjavík.
