Food was fine, no variance from a fixed menu and staff not over welcoming and did rush you along during the meal.

Our first evening, we enjoyed a 9-course dinner at Kopar in the Old Harbor. Starters- Icelandic scallops ceviche with dill mayonnaise and wagame salad Cod tongues with sherry and garlic cream cheese and lemon dip and Duck spring rolls with date sauce and pear salad. Main courses- Baked ling with potatoes, cauliflower, and creamy white wine sauce Salted filet of Icelandic cod with butternut squash purée, quinoa salad, and mandarin sauce Icelandic filet of lamb with truffle mashed potatoes, Bernaise sauce, and mushroom and port purée. Desserts- Dalm cheesecake with skyr sorbet and raspberry sauce Caramel cake with lemon sorbet, Italian meringue, dulce de leche, and white chocolate mousse Skyr almond crème brulée with skyr pudding, apple compote, and blueberry sorbet. The Northern Lights are still a mystery!

Bad weather caused me to postphone the cruise from the schedulled day, but dinner went on as scheduled and was very good. A great introduction to Icelandic food traditions. So, two days later we had crystal clear weather and the cruise went off as scheduled. It was cold and I had good cold weather gear of my own, but the boat had survival suits available for those not so warmly dressed. The lights showed up late and the captian intentionally slowed our return to port, stretching the cruise out to over 3 hours to give us a maximum viewing experience. Well worth it. FYI Kopar is located right in the Old Harbor and the cruise office is just a few steps away, as is the boarding place for the boat. Very convenient.

The restaurant experience was superb. The food was excellent and the service along with the staff were exceptional. The cruise to watch the northern lights was good, but we did not see the lights. The company promised to credit us for another trip.

Disappointed that the lights did not provide a better display. We did see the lights on another day

This was an amazing experience. The whole fine dining experience in the Kopar restaurant was exceptional, the staff very attentive and every course superb. Even though we didn't get to see the Northern Lights the boat was brilliant, the atmosphere on board was lovely the crew brilliant, we even had 3 poems read out over the loudspeaker about the Lights. Highly Recommended.
