About this activity

Friendly staff and amazing horses await you. You will get the chance to take part in the daily routine of grooming and caring for the horses, as well as learn about the unique history of the Icelandic horse. You will have plenty of time to interact with them and take some pictures. Afterward, those who feel up for it, can give riding a try in the paddock. For those who want to try the Icelandic horse, gear will be provided, including: riding helmets, rubber boots, and rain wear/warm outfit. After the introduction, enjoy complimentary coffee and tea.

My daughter is allergic to horses but this is a great experience for her to meet up close and riding horses for a short period and feeding the horses. We enjoy it thoroughly. The staff is very friendly and everyone had fun.

As the title states, it was my first time riding a horse. So happy it got to be an Icelandic horse. You will first meet your horse which is selected for you based on experience and other factors. The guides were very helpful and constantly checking in with us on our comfort with the horse and giving useful tips. It is a lovely ride out to a lava field where you dismount the horse and have pictures taken with your horse. All of the gear is included. At the end of the tour, you will help take off the saddle and bridal. You really get to bond with your horse, mine was Utta!

So glad I chose this experience for my 10 year old granddaughter who just loves horses and recently has been taking riding lessons. She thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the experience, especially just handing out with the horses in the paddock as well as when the guide asked her if she could help taking the saddles off two of the horses. This is the experience for anyone who wants to meet Icelandic horses, but doesnt want to spend hours riding.

Beautiful horses! The staff is very knowledgable about the different horses personalities. It will probably be dark outside when you do this tour. The only way you'll get pictures in the sunlight is if you do an add on option to ride the horses outside and do that tour which is different than this one. I believe they give you the option to upgrade the tour once you are there but if you stick with this tour you will still get the chance to ride the horses but inside a barn area. It was raining and very cold when I did the tour so perhaps this tour may be a different experience once you are there.
