Northern Light Explorer in a Super Jeep

About this activity
Every winter we see more and more people traveling to Iceland, hoping to catch a glimpse of the famous Aurora Borealis. This stunning natural phenomenon, also know as then northern lights is one of the most captivating natural sights in the world. The brilliant colors and shapes dancing in the dark arctic sky will leave you wonderstruck. Your adventure begins with a pick up by our knowledgeable northern lights guide in a Super Jeep at a destined location. After that we depart from the city, leaving the lights behind and set off into the darkness for our journey. Throughout our search for the northern lights, you will unknowingly travel through some of Iceland's most striking natural scenery but your guide will keep you informed of all the sights hiding in the night. The Super Jeep also gives us flexibility to see hidden gems off the beaten path that big buses can not get to, which allows us a greater chance of seeing the northern lights and starry night without big crowds. Hot chocolate to keep you warm during this cold night will be provided, and those brave enough can add some Icelandic Brennivín! Our guides will take photos of the northern lights everytime they appear so don't forget to get your picture taken with the Aurora Borealis. Since the Northern Lights Explorer tour's success is quite dependent on weather conditions, we reserve the right to cancel departures until 18:15 on the day of the tour. If the tour proceeds, but no northern lights appear we offer our clients the opportunity to join us on another evening's tour free of charge upon availability (repeat trips will take place on a basic Northern Lights tour). Don't forget to bring: warm shoes with woolly socks, headware and gloves, waterproof jacket and pants, and warm outdoor clothing. Watching the Northern Lights requires you to be outside at all times at night in Iceland during the winter so make sure you're dressed appropriately for the occasion. You can never be dressed too warmly for the Aurora Borealis tours.
