Itinerary

Stop At: Thingvellir National Park, Thingvellir Iceland
Thingvellir National Park where the oldest parliament was founded in the world over 1000 years ago. Many crucial events in Icelandic history took part here and it is also on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Here you will also see how the earth is ever so slowly pulling apart along the North-America and Eurasian tectonic plates.
Duration: 20 minutes
Stop At: Gullfoss, White River, Blaskogabyggd 801 Iceland
We then proceed to Gullfoss waterfall, which many consider to be the queen of Icelandic waterfalls, as it is both high and mighty and stumbles in a deep gorge. Gullfoss is in fact 2 separate waterfalls, the upper one has a 11m drop and the lower one with 21m, beautifully angled creating a dramatic cascade. Here we will have a short coffee break at Gullfoss Café.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Geysir, Haukadalur Iceland
We will visit the Geysir geothermal area in Haukadalur where you can see geysers, hot springs, steam vents and eerie blue algae. Although the Great Geysir is relatively dormant, Strokkur, also being one of the largest and most powerful geysers, it erupts almost every 5 minutes.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Faxi (Vatnsleysufoss) Waterfall, Tungufljót River, Skalholt Iceland
Faxi, a small but beautiful waterfall. And then we head to Fridheimar, a greenhouse cultivation center where pesticide-free tomatoes and cucumbers are grown with the aid of geothermal power in Iceland.
Duration: 20 minutes
Stop At: Kerid Crater, Route 35, Selfoss Iceland
Our final stop of the day is the amazing 3,000 years-old Kerid crater before driving back to Reykjavik. At Kerid crater we also have the option to walk into the crater at a minimal entrance fee ( USD 4)
Duration: 20 minutes

Always take you information with you!!! Not only your voucher but also the information from the Viator website! Our driver drove us around the places of the Golden Circle and wanted to get back. It was only after I had shown him my itinerary and after he had spoken to his boss that we were taken to the glacier. I did not like this attitude. The places we visited were great but I booked a 4X4 jeep especially to see the glacier. These problems should be avoided and Viator should clearly inform the local organiser.
