Faxi is a beautiful, lesser known waterfall that is not visible from the main road in the Golden Circle. It is named after the mane of the Icelandic horse.

Stop At: Gullfoss, White River, Blaskogabyggd 801 Iceland
From Faxi, we will head towards the mighty Gullfoss. The glacial river Hvítá takes a dramatic 32-metre plunge into a canyon, creating this magnificent waterfall.

Stop At: Geysir, Haukadalur Iceland
Next, you will visit the Geysir geothermal area in Haukadalur valley.
The geyser called Strokkur erupts 10-15 metres up in the air every 10-15 minutes giving you plenty of opportunities to capture the perfect photo.

Stop At: Thingvellir National Park, Thingvellir Iceland
The last part of the Golden Circle tour is the Þingvellir national park. Þingvellir is where Iceland’s parliament, the Alþingi, was founded in the year 930, making it the oldest running parliament in the world. This is also where the two tectonic plates from 2 continents are drifting apart, which can be seen in the cracks which traverse the region.
