Skiing Between The Fjords (6 Days)

Skiing Adventure in East Iceland Narrow fjords surrounded by steep mountains plunged into the sea and tiny fishing villages are the setting for our East Iceland skiing adventure. The slopes of these mountains are perfect for backcountry skiing and ski mountaineering! Our base on this tour will be in the village of Fáskrúðsfjörður where we stay at the charming Fosshotel Austfirðir, located in a historic building from the early 20th century that was previously used as a hospital for French fishermen and houses a museum about that ear. From our base there we will travel between the fjords of the east, and each day finds the best available mountains for our adventure. A truly unique ski touring trip in an uncharted area. Alpine skiing touring: 5-7 hours per day. Elevation: 0 -1200 meters (0-3940 feet) Maximum accumulated ascent: 800 - 1200 m (2635-3950 feet).
