DAY 1 (Friday) ROME

Arrival in Rome and transfer to the selected 4** Hotel (Ariston Hotel – Hotel Morgana – Starhotels

Metropole)

DAY 2 (Saturday) ROME

Breakfast and, at the agreed time, all participants shall gather at the hotel. You will cross Piazza della

Repubblica with the Fountain of Naiades to start, together with a local guide, a pleasant walk through

the historic centre, which allows you to admire the Trevi Fountain, the Column of Marcus Aurelius,

Palazzo Montecitorio, designed By Bernini, the Pantheon (tour), Palazzo Madama, seat of the Senate

of the Republic and Piazza Navona. Past Castel Sant’Angelo, the bus will take you to St. Peter’s Basilica

where the guide will tell you everything about the Basilica from the outside. Return to the hotel.

Overnight

DAY 3 (Sunday) ROME Imperial Rome and the Coliseum

Breakfast and, at the agreed time, all participants shall gather at the hotel. The bus will take you to

Piazza Venezia, then you will continue on foot to the famous Piazza del Campidoglio designed by

Michelangelo, where you can admire wonderful views of the Roman Forum. Then the bus will take you

to the Aventine hill and the glorious Circus Maximus. You will stop to admire the beautiful statue of

Moses by Michelangelo, at the Basilica di San Pietro in Vincoli, and from there, in 5 minutes, you can

reach the symbol of the eternal city: the majestic Coliseum. The tour ends at the meeting point closest

to the hotel. Return to the hotel. (B)

DAY 4 (Monday) ROME – NAPLES – POMPEII – ROME

Breakfast and, at the agreed time, all participants shall gather at the hotel. The Austostrada del Sole,

heading south, will take you through the green Roman countryside. Halfway you will see the Abbey of

Montecassino, famous for the great battle of World War II. Then you will reach the port of Mergellina

and, walking along the promenade, Santa Lucia, an old fishing district, where Castel del Ovo is located.

You will leave the city travelling through the fertile valley of Vesuvius to reach Pompeii, where you will

have lunch. In the afternoon, always accompanied by your guide, your archaeological tour of the old

town will start (2 hours approximately). Buried under a layer of ashes and affected by an unexpected

eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, Pompeii was brought back to life after almost 1,700 years, and

after all these years you can still enjoy the magical and dark atmosphere of those terrible moments.

At the end of the tour you will start your trip back to Rome, which will last about 3 hours. But first you

will visit a former factory of cameos and corals. The tour ends at the meeting point closest to the

hotel. Return to the hotel. (B)

DAY 5 (Tuesday) ROME – Vatican Museums

Breakfast and, at the agreed time, all participants shall gather at the hotel. From Piazza della

Repubblica, with the central Fountain of Naiades, and then Piazzale Flaminio you will see Piazza

Popolo, the old gate to the capital from the north, and the central Egyptian obelisk dating back to the

time of Ramesses II. Then, through the Vatican walls, you will enter the Vatican Museums. A guide will

take you to the beautiful helical staircase to admire the Gallery of Tapestries and the Gallery of Maps,

finally arriving at the Sistine Chapel, with the wonderful fresco of the Last Judgment, by Michelangelo.

At the end of the tour, you may decide to stay within the museum a little longer or take the transfer

to the meeting point closest to the hotel. Return to the hotel with no transfer provided. (B)

DAY 6 (Wednesday) ROME

Breakfast in the hotel and end of our services. (B)
