Day 1: Paraty

Stop At: Casa da Cultura de Paraty, Rua Dona Geralda 177, Paraty, State of Rio de Janeiro 23970-000 Brazil
Located in the Historic Center, the House of Culture Câmara Torres stands out among so many beautiful colonial buildings. The "house", as it was formerly known, has now become an organism integrated into the social and cultural life of Paraty.

Stop At: Church of Our Lady of the Rosary and Saint Benedict, Centro Historico, Paraty, State of Rio de Janeiro Brazil
It was built in 1725 by the Brotherhood of Our Lady of the Rosary of the Black Men, integrated by blacks, being reconstructed few years later, in 1755.

Stop At: First Church of Our Lady of the Remedies, Centro Historico, Paraty, State of Rio de Janeiro Brazil
The primitive temple was erected, according to tradition, as one of the conditions demanded by Maria Jácome de Melo for the donation of sesmaria to where the nucleus of original settlement was expanded, in 1640. Its works only began, however, in 1646.

Day 2: Paraty

Stop At: Igreja de Santa Rita, Paraty, State of Rio de Janeiro 23970-000 Brazil
Raised by the Brotherhood of Santa Rita dos Pardos Libertos, it dates from June 30, 1722 under the original invocation of Menino Deus, Santa Rita and Santa Quitéria. It was his vicar at the time Father Manoel Braz Cordeiro.

Stop At: Church of Our Lady of Sorrows, R. da Capela - Centro Histórico, Paraty - RJ, 23970-000, Brazil
It was erected in 1800 by initiative of ladies of the aristocracy of the city. Until 1820 it was not finished, having become a fashionable chapel during the Empire Brazil period.

With the decay of the city, the church was abandoned until 1901, when the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Sorrows, composed exclusively of women, reformed it.
