Bike and Cook in Rio de Janeiro
Meet the small group at the centrally located meeting spot, where your bikes will be ready for you. Hop on your bike and start cruising toward the Lagoa. Journey on the approximately 4.5-mile (7 km) route around the lake. Ride at a casual pace and stop at perfectly framed spots to enjoy the scenery. See Christ the Redeemer towering over you on the right and the lake shimmering on the left. Once you make it to the end of Leblon, there will be a special lookout point.
Continue down along the bike path of Ipanema Beach, humming the famous 'Girl from Ipanema' tune under your breath. Then turn toward Copacabana Promenade to continue the great vibes. The 2-hour bike ride ends at the cooking class. Now it's time to turn your hand to cooking your new favorite dish.
Depending on the day, you will either learn the national dish, Feijoada, a Black Bean Pork Stew (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday), or the Northeastern Seafood Dish, Moqueca, made with white fish (Monday, Wednesday, Friday). Both will make your mouth water and your family and friends happy when you invite them over for dinner in the future. Your professional cook is a fun-loving, entertaining, Brazilian woman who is a pleasure to be with and learn from. Enjoy Caipirinhas, an appetizer, main dish, and a desert! The class will be approximately 4-hours and is sure to leave you satisfied.
