Start the day by going to the Christ Redeemer Statue, one of the seven new wonders of the world. En route, go through Tijuca National Park (urban forest) and swing by Maracanã Stadium, venue of the 2014 FIFA World Cup final.

Then, stop at The Sambadrome (where the Carnival parade takes place) and the Metropolitan Cathedral before looking for a local place to eat. You choose between a full meal or just a snack, Marcio knows all the spots!

Continue the tour to Santa Teresa, Cinelandia, The Arches of Lapa, Selaron Steps, and Sugar Loaf Mountain. The tour is customizable so if there are specific attractions you really want to see, Marcio will take you there.

Marcio was the ideal guide for my first full day in Rio. He took the time to provide his extensive knowledge on every hot spot and even the hidden gems. Despite it being a cloudy day to see Christ the Redeemer, Marcio went the extra mile literally to take me to an extra location he knew I'd enjoy. He was funny, informative, full of energy and kept us moving along. Best of all, he was on time to pick me up and drop me off.
