Duration: 4 hours

Pass By: Praia do Secreto, Avenida Estado da Guanabara 1102 Recreio dos Bandeirantes, Rio de Janeiro, State of Rio de Janeiro 22790-852 Brazil

With only twelve meters of length, Secreto has become an alternative to the famous beaches of the carioca West Zone. In reality, it is a natural pool surrounded by rocks and away from the buildings and the fast life of the city. To get there, all you need to do is take the Estrada do Pontal towards Prainha and leave the car at setback by the trail, or by the Mirante da Prainha.

There is no sign to indicate the entrance to the trail which opens a path across the woods, but it is still easy to locate it. After approximately five minutes hiking in an incredible environment, the adventures must climb down a rock wall fifteen meters tall to reach the sea. It is recommended that you go with sneakers, as the rock wall is steep and slippery in some points. Swimming in Praia do Secreto depends on the tide, therefore, before preparing to go there, check if the tide is too high or too low, because in either case the “pool” disappears.
