About this activity
After spending your first night in Rome, your 10-night tour uses Sorrento and the Sicilian towns of Palermo, Agrigento, Catania and the Taormina area as bases for exploring the Sorrento Coast, Campania and the island of Sicily.
While every region of Italy varies in culture and history, the differences are more prominent in the south, where a laid-back pace of life is the norm. Discover sunny coastlines, volcanic landscapes, and sleepy villages that boast a fusion of Norman, Baroque and medieval architecture.
With the exception of Day 4, when you spend the night at sea on your way to Sicily, all hotels are located in the center of the towns, or in the case of Taormina, in the surrounding area. Choose from standard accommodation in 3-star or 4-star hotels with basic facilities or superior accommodation in very comfortable 4-star hotels.
Please note: Rates do not includes city taxes. City tax should be paid directly at the reception hotel desk on arrival or checkout according to the local city board procedure. City tax will change according to hotel category. Hotels are subject to availability at time of booking. In the rare event that the mentioned hotel is unavailable, you will be accommodated in another centrally-located hotel of the same star rating.

Tour overall was excellent, and I would recommend it to others. It would be difficult to view all the included sights without the guided tour. The presence of an overall guide on each leg, supplemented by a local guide was uniformly excellent. I had expected the tour to be together for the 10-day tour, but there were group changes until the Sicily portion. The Sicily portion was a large group and bilingual, which was hard for both clients and the guide. Hotels were good to excellent. Meals also were generally excellent, except for a few in Sicily.

GOOD TOUR FOR THE MONEY. BE AWARE IT IS A MULTILINGUAL TOUR. WE DID PAY FOR 4 STAR HOTELS AND ONLY HAD ONE DIFFERENT HOTEL FROM THE REST OF THE GROUP THAT ONLY PAID FOR 3 STAR. DID NOT KNOW POSITANO AND AMALFI WAS AVAILABLE AS AN INDEPENDENT SIDE TRIP ONE DAY, WOULD HAVE DONE THIS VS. HAVING PAID FOR PRIVATE TOUR OF THESE AREAS PRIOR TO START OF THIS TOUR. VISIT TO CHEFALU SHOULD BE CONSIDERED TO BE PART OF TOUR RATHER THAN OPTIONAL EXCURSION THAT IS PRESENTED TO YOU ONLY ONE DAY PRIOR AND WITH NEE FOR 15 PARTICIPANTS IN ORDER TO VISIT CHEFALU.
