2 in 1 Gladiator for a Day: Gladiator Gate & Colosseum Over the Underground

Meet your guide opposite the Colosseum in the fairly early morning before the tourist hordes and coaches arrive at the main entrance. The first thing you will notice is that you won't enter the Colosseum through the main entrance (it's crowded, crazy, and can be somewhat stressful). We take you into the Colosseum through Gladiator Gate which leads directly to the arena floor. This means that we fast track you to the exact spot where gladiators engaged in fierce combat in antiquity!
The overlook is of course that of the over-toured, over-priced Colosseum Underground. You will get a far superior view of the chambers and the dungeons from the edge of the arena. They are just a few metres above where you will be standing.
After a period of time spent in the area where thousands of men and animals perished, your guide will lead you up into the main of the body of the Colosseum structure and show you all the most interesting nooks and crannies which many tours omit, with anecdotes which embellish the rich history of Rome's most magnificent ruin.
Soon after, a short walk across the narrow Valley of the Colosseum will take you into the Roman Forum, a peaceful and ancient archaeological area which boasts an astonishing number of temples which were dedicated to the Gods. Emperors ruled from here, and some of them died here too. If you wish, after your guided tour of this beautiful place, you may ascend the mystical Palatine Hill where myths and legends abound.
In the later morning, make your way across the river Tiber by way of a beautiful stroll across the prettiest piazzas of historic Rome to our Vatican premises where you will fight opponents in the Colosseum and race a chariot around Circus Maximus - just like in the Ben Hur movie!
