About this activity
Day 1:
Take the train from Rome to Bari (departing at 8:05am and arriving at 12:08am, schedule subject to possible change). Check in at 3-star hotel in the city center of Bari. Spend the day at your leisure to explore the city of Bari and its medieval city center. Overnight in Bari.
Day 2:
Breakfast at the hotel.
Start your journey with a private pick-up at your hotel, with your local English speaking driver. The first stop is Alberobello, home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During a 2-hour walking tour, you'll admire the typical trulli, traditional Apulian dry stone huts with conical roofs that made Alberobello famous.
After free-time for lunch, you'll move to Matera, one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world. Matera, also known as the city of Sassi, is located in a typical canyon used over centuries as cave-houses and rocky churches .
At the end of this 8-hour tour, transfer back to your hotel in Bari.

Breakfast at the hotel. Train from Bari to Rome (departing at 1:17pm and arriving at 5:20pm, schedule subject to possible changes).

The trip was well organised, with tickets all sent by email on time and a followup from Fashion Tour company, however the hotel in Bari was way too far from central shopping area nd took over 15 minutes walking with cases to get to it. Mercure was a nice hotel just too far away from the centre. The saving grace was the tour guide Vito. excellent discussion and information as well as a great driver. We would recommend him to all if you need a guide in Bari.
