Itinerary
Day 1: Day 1 Pick up and Morellino di Scansano and Montecucco Wine:
Stop At: Stazione Termini, Piazza dei Cinquecento 1, 00185 Rome Italy
Red wines from Maremma in Tuscany are some of the very best Italian wines. This is somewhat unsurprising given that the winemakers of the region have centuries of experience upon which to draw: Wine has been made here since Etruscan times when it was sold across Europe. Get picked up by your local driver in Rome at 9am. Then start driving in an air-conditioned vehicle towards the stunning countryside between Montiano, Magliano in Toscana, and Montecucco, visiting three of the best local wineries and sampling their fine wines along the way. Each of these wineries is run by a local family who has vast experience of producing the authentic and sensational Morellino di Scansano and Montecucco’s wines. Enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the three local wineries and sample traditional food from Maremma. End the tour for dinner and the check in at your new home in a beautiful farmhouse.
Duration: 9 hours
Meals included:
• Lunch
• Dinner: set menu
Accommodation included: Private Villa in a 4 star Tuscany Farmhouse
Day 2: Day 2 Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci:
Stop At: Bolgheri - Borgo Medievale, 57020 Bolgheri, Castagneto Carducci Italy
What a stunning way to start the day by driving to the village of Bolgheri at which you will enjoy a short visit to the Bolgheri. Then head down to the valley through the famous avenue of cypress trees to reach the first local winery before progressing along the main road that connects Bolgheri to Castagneto Carducci to visit two additional wineries. At each of the wineries, you will have a chance to sample fine wines and visit the cellars. The day will end at the accommodation for a dinner.
