The tour guides were exceptional. Very friendly, flexible and personable. Again, very thorough. Would highly recommend. The only one thing that was misleading was that it was a 3 day tour, not 5 days as it stated. The 11st and 55th day was just pick up and drop off service to the airport...which of course was very convenient and great however, I would not advertise it as a 5 day private tour
We enjoyed the tour. The tour guides we had in each city were fantastic. We loved our tour guide in Florence, especially because she helped us get to the train station to buy tickets to go to Pisa. She was lovely! We were disappointed in the hotels, particularly the hotel in Florence, because they had a broken faucet in one of our rooms, and their solution was to send 2 people from our party to another hotel. Being as we were traveling with teens and children, we found this unacceptable. We ended up putting a cot in one of our other rooms, however Viator was unwilling to see any problem with this. In Venice, they had overbooked our hotel, and put our entire party of 8 in a different hotel. We were somewhat disappointed, but since we were all going to the same hotel we did not complain. When people save money for years to go on a trip of a lifetime, these are things that are disappointing. With the amount of money spent, we did not feel that splitting our party was a reasonable solution to THEIR plumbing problem. My other reason for the 3 star instead of 4 or 5 was our gondolier in Venice. Unfortunately our gondolier was not in the typical striped outfit, nor did he seem to be in the slightest bit enjoying his job. We had hope we would have some memorable pictures of ourselves with the traditional gondolier. This is not the case. Viator said we should have asked for a different gondolier, however when their loading you into the Gondola, you don't see who will be your gondolier until the minute they step in. We didn't have the option to ask for a different one. It probably sounds petty, but this was something our party was disappointed in.
