About this activity
01 - DAY ROME Transfer from the airport or train station in Rome to the Hotel. Day at leisure and overnight in Rome. Dinner not included.
02 - DAY ROME American Buffet breakfast at the hotel. In the morning you will enjoy a 3 hour “Discovering Rome” walking tour. You will be picked up at your hotel at approximately 9.00 am. The tour will start from Largo Argentina and continue to Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain. The tour will end at the Spanish steps (no drop off at the Hotel). Rest of the day at leisure and overnight. Dinner not included.

03 - DAY ROME - NAPLES - POMPEII - SORRENTO Departure from your hotel (pick up from hotels will be from 6.30 to 7.00 am, please remember to order your breakfast box at your hotel the day before departure!) Upon arrival in Naples we will take a walk in the historical centre to admire Piazza del Plebiscito, the Royal Palace, Piazza del Municipio, the Gallery of Umberto I and the San Carlo Opera House. After lunch in a typical rpizzeria in Naples with local specialities (water and 1 soft drink included) , with our local guide we will visit the Pompeii excavations, UNESCO listed ruins. This ancient Roman city was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, which buried and preserved it under a sea of volcanic ash for almost 1700 years. The archaeological journey through the ancient city will give us the opportunity to better understand how Romans used to live at that time. At the end of the tour, we may be given the opportunity to visit a coral and cameo factory, to admire items manufactured with a technique dating back to Ancient Greek times. Proceed to SORRENTO, the gateway to the Amalfi coast, with its colorful historical center and pretty waterfront, lined with fishing boats and the new Marina Grande cruise pier. Check in at your hotel in Sorrento, dinner and overnight.

04 - DAY SORRENTO - CAPRI - SORRENTO American buffet breakfast at the hotel, and departure at 07.30-07.45am to the island of CAPRI. You will board the ferry and arrive in MARINA GRANDE. Once on the island you will visit the BLUE GROTTO (weather permitting), and stop at the famous Piazzetta. A Minibus will take you up to ANACAPRI. After lunch in Anacapri, you will return to Marina Grande where you will board the ferry for your transfer back to Sorrento. Dinner and overnight in Hotel in Sorrento.

05 - DAY SORRENTO - ROME American buffet breakfast at hotel and day at leisure to explore Sorrento or have an optional tour to discover the Amalfi coast visiting Positano, Ravello and Amalfi. Meeting point at 2.30-3.00pm in your hotel lobby and transfer to Pompeii where you will join the bus to return to Rome. Arrival in Rome around 9:00 pm and drop o at the Hotel. Overnight in Rome.

Fantastic trip for those wanting to venture a little further afield when visiting Rome. The tour was extremely well organised with great local guides. I booked a trip with my 16 year old daughter to Rome and also wanted to visit these places but didn't want to make our own way there. We made great friends along the way and had time to kick back and relax whilst in Sorrento. Would highly recommend.
Trip started well with transfer waiting at the airport to take us to the hotel. Transfer the following ,morning for the walking tour was total confusion. Driver didn't speak English and a couple of tours were leaving at the same time. The walking tour then got off to a rocky start, as the group was not organised. When the walking tour did finally start it was enjoyable. Guidewas know,enable of local area. Transfer to Sorrento was a joke. Same driver and mini bus for 14 people with luggage. We had bags in the isle and people climbing over everything just to get in. Once in to hard to get out. No communication on how far we would be travelling in these conditions. When finally arriving at transfer point, Gartours head office, staff were rude and blamed us for bringing too much luggage. We all had what was stated in the brochure. Breakfast for this day was also included in initial documentation, but we were unable to have it as restaurant was not open when we left. Gartour staff advised it wasn,t included, when shown original paperwork. I was told I should have organised it with the hotel. Luca, our guide, needs to find a new job, he is not suited to this type of work. Naples and Pompeii guide was also very knowledgable, very interning stop. Sorrento stay was beautiful, accomodation, excellent, you couldn't ask for more. Although again we needed to be provided with more information or contact details for our stay and in particular our return. We rushed back from town, to be at hotel for pickup, only to drive back to pick up other people. New guide that picked us up said,we could have been collected from town if we told them. We had no idea who to tell. All coach travel was just mixing a number of tours together, so no one really new what was going on. At one point, when we changed busses, we were told, get on the white one. There where 3white buses there,again Luca was very abrupt, when enquiring which one.

For the money this was a great tour. Everything was arranged and made travelling very easy! They were always on time and courteous. The hotels were decent and tours were very interesting. I would highly recommend doing a tour like this if you are in a foreign country where you don't speak the language. It took the worry and planning out of sight seeing.

The bus wasn't packed so there was some breathing room which was a big plus. The interpreters were very knowledgeable and you could tell they had a passion about their work. Would def. do it again...
