Stop At: Basilica di Santa Chiara, Piazza Santa Chiara, 06081, Assisi Italy

The building is characterized by the execution of the whole body with pink and white bands of Subasio stone and majestic climbing arches supporting the two sides of the church. The interior is structured like the upper Church of St. Francis with a single nave ending in a transept with a polygonal apse. Here too a gallery goes around the perimeter, however, contrary to St. Francis, at the height of the capitals of the pillars.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli - Porziuncola, Piazza della Porziuncola 1, 06081, Assisi Italy

The Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels is a church, of Roman Catholic rite, located in Assisi, in the hamlet of the same name. It was built on a project by Galeazzo Alessi and with interventions by Jacopo Barozzi da Vignola starting from the second half of the sixteenth century.

Duration: 1 hour

Small group of 10 people. Minibus with guide and driver. Usual stop for shopping and bathroom break enroute. Visited places are in the tour description. What made this tour were the guides. Excellent knowledge of the subject matter and history. The meal served in a local restaurant served family style was also very good. The tour is strenuous but we'll worth the expense. With the drive time it takes 10 hours.

Had a wonderful experience. Would recommend this trip to everyone. The guides were excellent and gave full details without being intrusive. The weather was great too.

My wife, daughter and I were grateful to be picked up from our hotel even though the driver was 30 minutes late. We arrived at the departure location with considerable time to spare, however. The bus ride to Assisi was comfortable and scenic. Francesca, our guide, was very attentive and professional and kept the tour group moving efficiently in the very hot weather. Lunch was surprisingly tasty. My daughter has food allergies, and the tour guide and waitress at the restaurant were very accommodating. Although primarily known for St. Francis, Assisi is very quaint and picturesque. Be sure to take advantage of the local shops offering a variety of goods from Umbria. The local tour guide in Assisi was equally impressive and knowledgeable. As far as I'm concerned, it was money well spent.

Tour was fascinating and absolutely beautiful. Tour bus was nice in that it was a small group. We were not allowed to bring coffee or drinks on the bus which was disappointing considering how early in the morning we left. The stop at the ceramic factory was kind of strange. It really did not match the trip. Could have done without that even though it was interesting and we purchased some beautiful ceramics. Assisi was more than I had imagined. Absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend and would do it again.

Go to Assisi, not with this tour. The tour specifies 15 people in the group. There were 41 people who spoke English, Spanish, and Portuguese. The huge group was hard to manage and we lost valuable time where we could see more of the sites because we were waiting on the laggers in the group.
