Stop At: Green Line Tours - Day Tours, Via Giovanni Amendola 32 Piazza dei Ciquecento, 00185 Rome Italy

We wait for the rest of the group after picking up at the meeting point, to leave for Umbria.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Centro Storico Orvieto, Piazza della Repubblica, 05018, Orvieto Italy

Leave Rome and travel north by air-conditioned coach, following the River Tiber toward Tuscany. After roughly 1.5 hours on the road, you’ll arrive in the gorgeous town of Orvieto. Seemingly sprouting out of the volcanic rock on which it stands, the hilltop town boasts a history that dates back to Etruscan times.

Stretch your legs and walk around the town, seeing highlights like the 14th-century Orvieto Cathedral – a masterpiece of Gothic architecture with a glistening façade of stained glass, mosaics and sculptures. Soak up Orvieto’s charms and admire the countless churches that are scattered around its center.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Lake Trasimeno, Perugia Italy

Return to your coach and travel through the rolling hills toward Umbria – Tuscany’s lesser known but just as captivating neighbor. Stop for lunch on the shores of Lake Trasimeno, and then continue to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed town of Assisi.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Chiesa di Santa Chiara, Via Santa Chiara 49 Complesso Museale di Santa Chiara, 80134, Naples Italy

Three years after his death and one year after the canonization of St. Clare, it began in 1257 with the construction of the church and adjoining convent of the Poor Clares, who had lived in San Damiano since 1212.Famosa come la città natale del santo patrono d'Italia, San Francesco d'Assisi, la piccola città addormentata documenta tutti gli alti e bassi della sua vita. The site was that of the Church of S. Giorgio, where St. Francis was buried, before being moved to the basilica in 1230.

The building is characterized by the execution of the whole body with pink and white bands and by the majestic flying buttresses supporting the two sides of the church.

Duration: 30 minutes

Pass By: Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo, Piazza del Popolo 1, 05018, Orvieto Italy

On the way to visit the basilicas of Santa Chiara and Santa Maria degli Angeli we pass through the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo.

Stop At: Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli - Porziuncola, Piazza della Porziuncola 1, 06081, Assisi Italy

Before your tour ends, enjoy a final stop in the town of Santa Maria degli Angeli to see its beautiful basilica – a 9th-century church where St Francis reportedly worshiped. Head back to Rome and finish your tour at the start point in the early evening.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Duomo di Orvieto, Piazza del Duomo, 05018, Orvieto Italy

A symbol of the city itself, the Duomo is one of the most beautiful in Italy. The intent was to create one large cathedral for the city, to replace two decaying churches that existed there before. It should also be noted that the delightful story of the event of the Miracle of Bolsena encouraged the construction of the Duomo.

Assissi was beautiful! Long day but worth it. Not sure if there is a different way to get there from Rome that is more economical. The lunch on this tour is not very good at all and a waste of about an hour or so in time. Would recommend you pick up a sandwich or something to snack on before you leave Orvieto. None of the lunches that come with tours have been overly good which is somewhat expected - but this was the least. Orvieto is a cool little town but you dont get much time there. Tour guides are good (we have found that to be true on almost all of our tours here in Italy). And just fyi - it's about a 3 hour ride back (we were told 2 but it was a little more than 3) and there is no bathroom on the bus so you need to plan accordingly.

The tour was well organized and a great way to visit two of Italy's historic cities. This is a long 13 hour excursion from Rome - but well worth it. Both cities were very busy (Easter holiday week) but there was enough time it see each city's historic sites. Orvieto's cathedral and interior paintings were special. Assisi required a great deal of walking to see it's historic sites - but well worth it. The design of the Basilica of St Francis's two story exterior and it's interior painted frescoes were also special The driver and tour guide were very professional and made this a great excursion from Rome.

... Excellent guide at Assisi. Seeing the countryside was exquisite! A tour worth embarking on ... onboard guide was also knowledgable and able to translate in English and Spanish.

Very long day, 13 hours with more than half on the bus. Lunch included was worst we have had on many other tours. Bus driver was never helpful in assisting on or off bus. Guide on board was mute most of the time. Local guide in Assisi was fantastic! I would not recommend this tour.

Our guide Silvia was really personable and interesting, she made the day a wonderful one for us. The sights we saw, beautiful Orvieto and the Duomo and then memorable Assisi and visiting the holiest of places (after the Vatican) and the Porziuncola we knew it was very special! It was along day but so memorable and worthwhile, we will remember it forever! Congratulations to Silvia for her patience and happy personality and to the team of drivers, we really appreciated your efforts

This day trip from Rome was well worth it. It ended up being a 12 hour trip since the tour was very thorough. Our tour guide, Silvia was very professional and very mindful of the needs of the group members. I will definitely recommend this trip. We'll worth it.

The tour was great, the guides were knowledgable and the driver and bus were excellent. My couple of comments comment is that in my opinion we would have had a better trip with a little more free time in Assisi and skipping the restaurant stop. I would suggest going to Assisi first and allowing for more free time plus lunch at Assisi. Orvieto was nice but we were before most stores opened so it was much of a waste of time. By going to Assisi first and eliminating the lunch stop at the out of the way restaurant (which wasn’t that good!) we would have easily an extra hour in Assisi and have more productive time in Orvieto. Great tour!

Very nice tour. Quite a bit of walking in Assis. Had a lot of rain. Orvieto was interesting and they had a little train to get up to the town.

This was a great tour of Orvieto and I enjoyed the time to explore. Lunch was good. The time in Assisi was good but would have liked at least another 30 min to check out Assisi. Would recommend this tour for any 1st timers

So. of all the things the should not have done, They didn't show up to pick us up. To make matters worse, they unkindly at rudely blamed us and told us that we had to pay for the entire even. What ever the excuse they presented and what ever attempt they had to made us feel diminished, all they did was to make a vocal unhappy person client. You should know that yoru methods are not a good business is carried out. You may keep this out your own star ratings but there are others both in Europe and The USA, CANADA SOUTH AMERICA AND ASIA .Do you have any clients from those places? You present your company as being very capable and concerned, ready to solve all issues that arise but in fact you.creat anxiety and confusion. Finally you keep the funds sent to you together shamelessly. At best you are thieves. C. S Hrankowski

This is a trip I would not recommend as the tour operator used placed our lives at risk. The bus driver was falling asleep on himself within half hour of the trip and when a fellow tour member raised it to the guide he did not even respond. On our return journey the bus was overheating and the driver was forced to pull aside on the highway. The lunch was almost inedible - awful!! As stated in the tour description the restaurant was lakeside - the lake was 1.5 km away and not even visible from the restaurant. Orvieto and Assisi are stunning places - don't spoil your experience by using this tour! Entry to the cathedral at Orvieto is not included as well as museum even though its stated in the description - if you want you pay for these separately. It was my daughters 15th birthday - I regret ever putting her through this.
