Balloon Flight Experience near Rome
Jump in a hot air balloon and take in the mesmerizing Roman countryside from 500m in the air. You'll float along silently, cruising over the rolling hills in the early morning hours with a 360-degree panoramic view of fields, roads, and rivers. It's a tranquil magic carpet ride away from the traffic and noise of the big city.
The ride takes off in Magliano Sabina just after sunrise for a special morning you will remember for a long time. You will be introduced to the crew and the other participants at your meeting point, where the pilot will check you in. Then he will use a small helium balloon to understand the direction and the strength of the wind. To reach the take off point (within 4-5 km from the meeting point), jump on a jeep with the other participants! Here you will see the crew preparing for take off, mounting and inflating the balloon. You will also be given a safety instructions leaflet.
You should allow from 3 to 4 hours for the total experience, while the flight is usually between 40 and 60 minutes long. Your experience includes check-in and take off preparation operations, a toast at the end of the flight, check-out and landing operations. Nobody can determine the exact route of the balloon because the pilot can only follow the wind direction. He will raise or lower the hot air balloon by controlling the temperature inside the balloon. Fly as high as 500 m (1500 ft), then come down to touch the top of the trees. Another surprise: you will realize that you can't predict the exact point of landing: it can be a rice field or a corn field or just some nice grass. That's why this is an experience that is worth sharing with your family and friends. At the end of your flight, have a special breakfast with the other participants to make a toast and talk about your flight. You will then come back with one of the jeeps.
