Hop on a private, air-conditioned vehicle to the town of Castel Gandolfo, which sits overlooking a lake in the middle of the crater of an extinct volcano. Tour the summer home of the Popes and learn its rich history as an apostolic palace, favorite residence of John Paul II, and even refugee camp during World War II.

After taking some photos of the town, hop back into the minibus and go for lunch at one of our favorite vineyards. Also enjoy a full tour and wine tasting of some of the local blends.

As Rome’s main port from from the 1st Century until the 9th Century, this once-bustling town is full of old homes, market squares, public baths, and beautiful mosaics.
